Ohjeelo explores the concept of intersectionality of genres and music scenes from around the world based on years of djing. The Paris-based artist creates a colourful and eventful patchwork of Caribbean music, Afro beats and hybrid club music. Her performance at the Festival de la Cité is no exception to the rule, mixing bouyon, grime, coupé-décalé and Brazilian funk, resembling a sonic portrait of her musical journey.
This Dj set takes place as part of the curation of Zagaza. Zagaza is a laboratory and collective of Afrodescendant artists in the French speaking part of Switzerland that extends its artistic universe to black conscious art. To start this 51st edition of the Festival de la Cité, the Zagaza collective will bring the Antilles carnival to Lausanne. This festive start of the Festival will take place in public space to remind us that every identity has the right to exist, and to defend the rights and freedoms of oppressed populations.
