Los Wembler's de Iquitos

Pioneers of Amazonian psychedelic Cumbia, Los Wembler's is the legendary band from Iquitos, the capital of the Amazon in Peru. The band played a key role in the Chicha movement of the 1970s and has a string of early hits including the iconic Sonido Amazonico and Danza del Petrolero. A fusion of acidic guitars and popular rhythms from the banks of the Amazon coupled with pentatonic tones and Inca vocals make for a highly psychedelic mix.
