"Dad, do you know what Algeria and alcohol have in common? I’ve found three things: shame, taboo and silence." In La Fracture, Yasmine Yahiatene shares the stage with grainy videos from her family archives.

She embarks on a quest to find herself, her past, and above all to decipher an intimate and complex relationship, that with her father. By seeking to reconnect with him through multiple means, she returns to her Algerian and Kabyle origins, to her father's alcoholism, and to the commonalities between the two in order to begin a process of restoration and resilience.

Yasmine Yahiatene is a multidisciplinary artist. In 2017, she acted in the film Plein la vue by Philippe Lion and began her collaboration with the Compagnie ZA! in the show A ta place, created at the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes 2021. In 2019, she created the Collectif Oxo with whom she carries the project OXO Beat Gender, an interactive video installation. Her latest project, La Fracture, was presented in 2022 at Atelier 210 in Brussels, at the Festival Actoral in Marseille and at the Fast-forward Festival in Dresden, Germany, where it won the youth jury prize for best performance.
