WELCOME s a trio in the form of a strange journey where bodies and voices dissociate, dialogue and intermingle. The continuous transformation of bodies and the metamorphosis of voices, moving from one body to another through the magic of ventriloquism, create hybrid beings with multiple stories. Unclassifiable and poetic moments are born from this discrepancy between what is said, signified and interpreted. The trio oscillates between burlesque and disturbing strangeness, irony and absurdity. Through these disassociated bodies, WELCOME invites us to come together, to move towards each other and to build a community.
Born in Bretagne, Joachim Maudet graduated from the CNSMDP in Paris in 2012. After having performed for different choreographers, he set up the company Les Vagues in 2017, within which he created the duo ˈstɔːriz in 2019, the solo GIGI in 2021 and the trio WELCOME in 2022. He is currently creating his next solo KID#1.
