Phelimuncasi

Phelimuncasi is a trio consisting of twin singers Makan Nana and Khera and their producer Malathon. They first came together in 2012 in the township of Mlaszi in Durban, South Africa, playing Gqom music. Аt the crossroads of techno, house and kwaito (a local variant of house), Gqom has been gaining popularity within the townships and now outside the borders of the Rainbow Nation since the early 2010s. Phelimuncasi is the voice of social and political protest of the townships. Their spirit of subversion is channeled into deeply contagious and impactful music.
