Below the hill of the Cité, you will find the hollow of the Vallon neighbourhood. The Flon, the river that traced it, is no longer visible. Its water has been diverted towards the Vuachère, which crosses the Faverges neighbourhood, creating a subterranean link between two areas whose social life and imaginations are nourished by their steep-sided terrain. In the company of Matthieu Jaccard and UNIL researchers, this walk will take you through the highs and lows of the city, between two neighbourhoods where notions of the individual and the collective, of openness and closure, of protection and control, are put in tension.
