Anita Kirppis

Originally from El Salvador, Anita Kirppis presents a conference based on a rap slogan from the 90s, "This is for the Raza", which paints a portrait of the musical culture in which she grew up. Through the fashionable movements of 'spanglish', she shares her hybrid heritage to join the trajectories of the deconstructed Latinx club.

This concert is part of the Carte Blanche organised by CAF?, an association and label based between Lausanne and Vevey. The collective aims to produce and promote contemporary music. More specifically, this evening's theme is latincore, a shared desire for retrospection that takes the form of a vinyl compilation produced by the CAF? label. This  project brings together 14 productions and traces the contours of the hybrid and emerging music scenes of Latin America and the Caribbean and their diasporas.
