What refuge can protect our vitality? With his universe filled with a joyful and rebellious expressionism, Volmir Cordeiro invites us to have a laugh at ourselves. For what could be more dangerous for humanity than to believe ourselves immortal? Using humour, the Brazilian choreographer wards off the ineluctable downfall of civilisation by summoning a refuge against the disasters of the world. After Rue, a duet danced in 2019 on the Pont Bessières, he is back with eight dancers and a sousaphonist, for a carnivalesque display of celestial and insolent figures. With the utmost freedom, he cultivates his creative garden to render thoughts wild, thus illustrating new horizons of possibilities.
 

Initiated by Volmir Cordeiro, the Donna Volcan company marks a change in the life of the choreographic artist, based on his journey from Brazil to France and his desire to build a career as an artist-researcher. This transitory movement extended to become a project of circulation of choreographic works, workshops and exchange of research on a local, regional, national and international scale. In this way, creation and research are the heart of the volcano, and dissemination and transmission its eruption.
